原稿は書くべきでしょうか？　と迷っている方、どちらでも構いません。しっかりした原稿でも、項目を並べたメモだけでも、書いてみると安心です。聞き手の立場で内容が読めて、わからづらいことや、失礼な表現、つじつまの合わない部分の発見に役立ちます。ただし、書いたものを暗記して本番にのぞむことは止めましょう。ストーリーが頭に入ったら、原稿に忠実でなくていいのです。フリートーキングしましょう。暗記したものを思い出そうとしたり、原稿を読んでは、人の心に語りかけられません。

Should I write a manuscript?　If you are unsure, you can do either. Whether you have a solid manuscript or just notes with a list of items, it helps to write it down. You can read the content from the listener’s point of view and it will help you to spot things that are difficult to understand, rude expressions or inconsistencies. However, do not memorise what you have written and go into the performance. Once you have the story in your head, you don’t have to stick to the manuscript. Free-talk.
